GARDENING GUIDE
Plant Care
Plant care works best when watering, light, soil, feeding and pruning are adjusted to the plant and season instead of following a single fixed calendar.
Water intelligently
- Check root-zone moisture before watering.
- Water thoroughly where the plant and container require it.
- Avoid leaving susceptible plants standing in water.
Pruning
Remove dead or damaged material with clean tools. Major pruning timing depends on species, flowering cycle and climate.
Feeding
Fertilizer is not a cure for poor light, bad drainage, root rot or pests. Apply only an appropriate product at the correct rate.
Troubleshooting
Yellow leaves can result from multiple causes including water stress, root issues, nutrient problems, low light, temperature or normal leaf aging.
Plant-safety note: Plant toxicity varies by species and may affect pets or children. Verify the exact botanical species before placing a plant where ingestion is possible.
